Timed to coincide with the band's 50th anniversary, Total Assault boxes up MC5's complete recorded work for Elektra in a handsome slipcase. Each of the albums contains artwork that replicates the original release and each record is pressed on color vinyl: Kick out the Jams is red, Back in the USA white, High Time blue. Although the set has new liner notes from Jaan Uhelszki, the chief appeal of Total Assault is that it offers clean, dynamic pressings of three of the most volcanic slabs of rock & roll ever made.
