ニール・テナント(ヴォーカル)、クリス・ロウ(キーボード)の二人からなる、英国を代表する唯一無二の個性派エレポップ・デュオ=PET SHOP BOYS(ペット・ショップ・ボーイズ)。2016年のオリジナルAL『Super』から3年振りとなる作品『Inner Sanctum』は、2018年7月にロンドンのロイヤル・オペラ・ハウスで行われた公演を収録したライヴ・アルバム。2016年に同会場で行われた公演(4公演/即完売)が、『Super』ツアーの一環として再演された。PET SHOP BOYSのデザイナーを務めるデイヴ・エスリン、振付師・監督を務めたリン・ペイジが演出を手がけたこの公演は、デヴィッド・バーナー監督が撮影を行い、「英国屈指の偉大なポップ・デュオ…ヒット満載の祭典」(イヴニング・スタンダード紙)と評された。最新作『Super』、前作『Electric』からの楽曲他、「ウエスト・エンド・ガールズ」「ニューヨーク・シティ・ボーイ」「オールウェイズ・オン・マイ・マインド」「哀しみの天使(It's A Sin)」などパーロフォン時代のヒット曲も満載した、ベスト選曲とも言える超強力ライヴ盤。輸入盤は、この公演をDVD+Blu-ray+2CDで発売(DVDとBlu-rayは同内容)。DVDとBlu-rayには、ボーナスコンテンツ映像として、2017年のロック・イン・リオのライヴ映像も収録される。
