Following the previous installment by two years, the musical fantasy Descendants 3 again starred Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Sofia Carson, and Booboo Stewart as the children of classic Disney villains. Its Disney Channel premiere date of August 2, 2019, was accompanied by a soundtrack release that includes seven original songs. Highlights of those include the Carson-led pop song "One Kiss" and the Hot 100-charting "Queen of Mean" by Sarah Jeffery as the daughter of Princess Aurora. Non-originals include Mitchell Hope's acoustic partial-reprisal of the Adam Schlesinger-penned "Did I Mention" from the first Descendants and China Anne McClain's cover of the lively Randy Newman number "Dig a Little Deeper" from The Princess and the Frog. The soundtrack closes out with a whimsical orchestral score suite by composer David Lawrence.
