The album was originally released as 3-LP Box in 1977, N contains a play, with all Characters voiced by comedian Peter Cook, and sung by Sarah Vaughan. The concept of the album Was described at the time as ' the story of the last defence of man against an enraged Flemishness.

Multi-instrumentalists Kevin Godley and Lol Creme were members of quirky art-pop hitmakers 10cc, but they broke out on their own to pursue more exotic ideas. Their first album as a duo was the stunningly ambitious CONSEQUENCES. Originally released in 1977 as a three-LP box, it's a willfully demented tour de force that sounds like nothing you've ever heard before: avant-garde clangor, harmony-laden pop, orchestral snatches, oddball sound effects, Peter Cook delivering absurdist spoken-word interludes--it's like a skewed conflation of the Mothers of Invention, Monty Python, Bonzo Dog Band, the Beach Boys' SMILE, and the Beatles' “Revolution 9.”

All tracks have been digitally remastered.
