世界で絶賛されるカウンターテナーとなったオルリンスキの深い魅力!

18世紀の神聖なアリアとモテットによるアルバム『アニマ・テルナ(永遠の生命)』は、2018年リリースのヤクブ・オルリンスキのデビュー盤『アニマ・サクラ』の続編となるものです。ここで選ばれた作品は、ゼレンカ、ヘンデル、フックスのバロック時代の重要な作曲家の作品だけでなく、ジェンナーロ・マンナ、アントニオ・デ・アルメイダ、バルトロメオ・ヌッチなど、現在ではほとんど知られていない作曲家の作品も収録され、世界初録音曲も含まれています。2020年に多くの賞を受賞した魅惑的な新人ソプラノのファトマ・サイードが、ゼレンカのきらめく「われは喜びに満ちたり」でゲスト参加しています。世界各地でオペラ、コンチェルト、歌曲合奏など縦横無尽に活躍し、2018年には英グラモフォンによる「世界のベストオーケストラ」の一角にノミネートされた「イル・ポモ・ドーロ」と、バッハのチェンバロ協奏曲集で高い評価を得ているチェンバリストのフランチェスコ・コルティが指揮をとり、魅力ある語り口と熟知されたバロック音楽解釈が理想的に組み合わされ、オルリンスキの歌唱の深い魅力を引き立てています。

This album by countertenor Jakub Jozef Orli?ski is something of a sequel to the singers debut album, Anima Sacra, released in 2018. Both releases include 18th century sacred arias, largely unknown ones, but there should be no suspicion of a lack of new inspiration here. Orli?ski finds tremendous material, and if he wants to do a third album of the same stuff, listeners who appreciate exciting countertenor singing will be lining up for that as well. He begins with two works by the still underrated Jan Dismas Zelenka, with a superbly calm, Bachian motet by Johann Joseph Fux between them. Then come pieces by the even less known Gennaro Manna, Francisco Antonio de Almeida, and Bartolomeo Nucci; buyers of the audiophile LP release get a bonus by another unknown, Davide Perez. All of these works have splendid vocal writing that displays one of Orli?skis great strengths, namely the variety of colors he can bring to his voice. There are countertenors of greater sheer power, but few who can move so effortlessly from calm pastorals to strong operatic arias to a delicate high register. Unearthing these pieces would be enough in itself to recommend this release, but singing them in a way that brings them so vividly to life is a treasurable bonus. On top of that, the rainbow of vocal shades on the album is enhanced by the presence of another young star, soprano Fatma Said, who joins Orli?ski in Zelenkas Laetatus sum, ZWV 90 (consider the "Rogate" movement for the full effect). Backing Orli?ski is the crack Baroque orchestra Il Pomo dOro, led here by conductor Francesco Corti. Anyone fearing that the early music revival might be running out of steam need only turn to this exciting release.
