ウィーン・フィル・シェーンブルン・サマーナイト・コンサート2025

ウィーン・フィルとの絆を深めるソヒエフがサマーナイトにデビュー

ニューイヤー・コンサートと並ぶウィーン・フィルの名物行事で、ユネスコの世界遺産にも指定されているシェーンブルン宮殿を舞台に行われるオープンエアの演奏会「ウィーン・フィル・サマー・ナイト・コンサート」。今年は、2023年のウィーン・フィルの日本ツアーを担うなど、ウィーン・フィルとも関係を深めているトゥガン・ソヒエフが初登場。
「ビゼー没後150年」にあたり代表作「カルメン」と「アルルの女」から3曲が演奏されているほか、ウィーン・フィルの初代指揮者オットー・ニコライの邸宅を模様替えして設立された博物館「音楽の家」創設25年を記念して「ウィンザーの陽気な女房たち」序曲が取り上げられています。世界的なテノール、ピョートル・ベチャワとウィーン少年合唱団が初参加しています。野外コンサートながら全力投球のウィーン・フィルの熱演が初夏の夜を華やかに彩ります。

＜トゥガン・ソヒエフ(指揮)＞
1977年北オセチアのウラジカフカス生まれ。サンクトペテルブルク音楽院でムーシン、テミルカーノフらに師事。99年プロコフィエフ国際コンクールの指揮部門で最高位。ウィーン・フィル、ベルリン・フィル、ロイヤル・コンセルトヘボウ管、N響など世界の一流オーケストラと客演を続け、若手指揮者屈指の存在に。ベルリン・ドイツ響、ボリショイ劇場音楽監督などを歴任。

＜ピョートル・ベチャワ(テノール)＞
ポーランドのクラコフ近郊出身のリリック・テノール。カトヴィツ音楽大学で声楽を学び、1996年、ドン・オッターヴィオでデビュー。チューリヒを本拠に活動。イタリア・オペラ、フランス・オペラ、ドイツ・オペラをカバーするレパートリーは幅広く、2018年にはバイロイト音楽祭にローエングリン役でデビュー。

Like its annual New Years concert, the Sommernachtskonzert of the Wiener Philharmoniker, held outdoors on the idyllic grounds of the Schonbrunn castle, tends to alternate between the affirmation of tradition and the bit of innovation necessary to keep the thing vital. The 2025 edition leaned toward the innovative, and not just because of the inclusion of a tragic memorial, in the form of the Air from Bachs Orchestral Suite No. 3, BWV 1068, to the victims of the Graz school shooting that occurred a few days before the concert. The conductor, Tugan Sokhiev, was making his first appearance at the Sommernachtskonzert, and he introduces several novel elements. One is the tenor Piotr Beczała, likewise making his debut and bringing a requisitely pleasant Eastern European quality. Sokhiev brings another icon of Viennese music-making, the Wiener Sangerknaben ("Vienna Boys Choir"), in a few numbers. Most important of all, the program this time out feels less Viennese than usual, with most of it coming from outside the German-Austrian tradition, although there is certainly a nod to the usual at the end. Even there, one could ask for a bit more of a foot-tapping quality in Johann Strauss IIs Wiener Blut, Op. 354. In general, though, the silky precision of the Wiener Philharmoniker is everywhere in evidence through the sequence of favorites (try the "Waltz of the Flowers" from Tchaikovskys The Nutcracker for an example of what this orchestra can do, but very few others can manage). Kudos to Sony Classical for its speed in generating this release, which was on the market less than a month after it occurred on June 13, and on classical best-seller lists shortly after that. ~ James Manheim
