Produced by Roy Thomas Baker (Queen, David Bowie, The Who) the album sees the band flesh out the riff-laden rock sound of their debut, while sticking to the formula that earned them three Brit Awards, an Ivor Novello 'Songwriters Of The Year' award and four UK top ten hits.|

正直に告白すれば、『Permission To Land』リリース後に巻き起こった奇跡のような大躍進も、そしてこれほどまでに完成された作品を作り出すこともまったく予想し得なかったのだ。世界を席巻した英国の暗黒貴公子、圧巻のセカンド・アルバムである。ジャスティン・ホーキンスのファルセット・ヴォイスを旗印に掲げた不純物皆無のメタル・サウンドという基本姿勢は前作に忠実であるが、ならば強固な城壁のように塗り固められたサウンド・プロテクションはどうだ。プロデュースにクイーンなどを手掛けた名伯楽＝ロイ・トーマス・ベイカーを迎えて、ストリングスやシタール、極厚のコーラスを用いた大仰さは、驚くほど高いレヴェルで結実している。世間に背を向けられながらも、地道に己を貫いた〈地続きの本気〉が到達点を迎えた、まさに歴史的瞬間である。ハード・ロックで世界征服!?　なんて痛快な話なんだろう!
