ロンドン拠点の4人組新人バンド、ザ・ヴァクシーンズのデビュー・アルバム！フロントマンのジャスティン・ヤングはかつて、ローラ・マーリングやマムフォード＆サンズらの出自でもあるロンドン・フォーク・シーンでJAY JAY PISTOLETという名義で活動していたソロ・アーティストで、マムフォード＆サンズのメンバーらと同じフラットに住んでいた。周りが有名になっていく中、強い挫折を感じた彼は2009年末ころ、よりプロフェッショナルに、よりクリエイティヴになることを固く決意。共通の友人を通じてまずはギタリストのフレディー・コーワン（ザ・ホラーズのベーシスト）、トム“トメシー･ファース”カァワンに出会う。やがてドラムのピート・ロバートソンと、以前ビョークの息子とバンドを組んでいたこともあるアイスランド人ベーシストが参加して現在のラインナップとなった。 UKの長寿音楽TV番組『Later With Jools Holland』(BBC)に、シングルを含む一切のリリースを前にしてTVに登場した初めてのバンドとしても注目されている。権威ある英BBCが選ぶ『Sound of 2011（2011年の音）』で3番手に選定。
