フロントマン オリー・サイクス(Vo)と、リー・マリア(G)が プロデュースを手がけ、Buster Odeholmがミキシングを担当。新たな命を吹き込まれた本作は、これまで以上にシャープに、よりヘヴィに、生まれ変わり、デビュー作の偉大さを改めて証明するとともに、ブリング・ミー・ザ・ホライズンが、世界で最も重要なバンドの一つであり続ける理由を改めて示している。

On the albums 20th anniversary, Count Your Blessings was given new life in the form of a re-recorded "Repented" version. Armed with improved studio technique and two decades of practice, it shows just how far Bring Me the Horizon had come from their deathcore beginnings. This is a gift for the day-one diehards who may have wanted a better quality version of the violently caustic debut, as Repented sticks pretty close to the originals, just with cleaned up production and more controlled shrieking from Oli Sykes. They go so far as to return "Liquor & Love Lost" back to its demo title, "Dragon Slaying." Hearing these songs once again (or for the first time), its no wonder the vibe shift that occurred after Sempiternal ruffled so many feathers. Late era "newcomers" wouldnt even recognize this form of BMTH -- its truly like two completely different bands. Outside of the previously unreleased bonus track "Dehumanized," these songs have been in the wild all this time, so new high-def versions arent likely to convert anyone. Its more of a "nice to have" than anything. Count Your Blessings: Repented stands as a reminder of the bands (and the fan bases) roots, acknowledging the sound that put them on the radar before they exploded to become one of the biggest draws of their generation. ~ Neil Z.
