And just like that, the Tropicoqueta era comes to its somewhat abrupt end. With the arrival of her sixth album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto ("I don’t regret feeling so much"), Colombian star Karol G quickly closes the books on the globe-trotting sounds of her fifth set, replacing its Latin genre umbrella with the blue tones of heartbreak. It’s a subject she’s tackled before -- on the career high of 2023’s Manana Sera Bonito no less – but this time shes not willing to let the summer carry it downstream. This new take commences with the hyperpoppy, Jersey-bounced “Te llevas to,” which leaps between yearning lost dreams and ashen-faced insults. Despite the big-name collaborators here, among them Bruno Mars and Drake, its the smaller collaborations that make for the projects highlights. French talent Oklou is the first, giving her signature ethereal touch to the excellent "Final feliz," before trailblazers Judeline and Rusowsky pair up to shepherd the album’s main standout in the excellent “BbY WOW." Couched neatly between the trios sonic worlds, the track runs a similar path to success as 2023’s “Ojos Ferrari,” effortlessly threading all three into an infectious reflection on broken connections.
