2019年度HR/HMでトップ・セールスをあげたドリーム・シアターのレーベル移籍第1弾『ディスタンス・オーヴァー・タイム』。アルバムをひっさげたワールド・ツアーは19年3月からスタートし、20年初頭のヨーロッパ・ツアーのあと、いよいよアジアに乗り込もうとしていた矢先にCOVID-19によってツアー・スケジュールは白紙に戻されてしまった。日本は当初5月に設定されていたが、10月の振替公演も結果として中止となるなど、日本のファンにとってはショッキングな事態となってしまった。そんな未曾有の状況の中、彼らはツアーがキャンセルされるや否や早々に新たな作品の制作に取り掛かっていた。

このライヴ作品は20年2月21日、ヨーロッパ・ツアー最終日直前のロンドンはイヴェンティム・アポロ（旧ハマースミス・アポロ）公演を完全収録している。ファンならご存知の通り、本ツアーは2部構成となっており、1部は『ディスタンス・オーヴァー・タイム』収録の新曲をメインに、2部はあの99年の名盤『メトロポリス・パート２：シーンズ・フロム・ア・メモリー』の20周年を記念した完全再現ライヴとなっている。3CD+2BD(2DVD)、日本独自3CDの3形態発売。
