マイルス・デイヴィス 米コロムビア初期9作品モノ音源BOX

　マイルス・デイヴィスが米コロムビアからリリースした1956年から1961年に録音された最初期作品を、モノラル仕様でセットにした9枚組ボックス・セット『The Original Mono Recordings』が発売決定！ジャケットは全てミニLPレプリカ仕様、オリジナル・アナログ・マスターからの最新リマスタリング音源(2012年＆2013年)で収録！

　今回このボックスには、まだステレオが一般家庭に広く普及する以前にリリースされた、マイルスの米コロムビア期の初期作品である1956年から1961年の約5年間に録音された9作品が収められ、当時のリスナーがリアルタイムで聴いていたモノラル音源をヴァーチャル体験できるセットとなっています。

　収録されているタイトルは、第一期クインテット（マイルス、ジョン・コルトレーン、レッド・ガーランド、ポール・チェンバース、フィリー・ジョー・ジョーンズ）による6作品『'Round About Midnight』『Milestones』『Jazz Track』『Kind Of Blue』『Someday My Prince Will Come』『Miles And Monk At Newport』と、ギル・エヴァンスのオーケストラと共演した3作品『Miles Ahead』『Porgy And Bess』『Sketches Of Spain』、の計9タイトル。
　『Jazz Track』は、パリで録音した「死刑台のエレベーター」のサウンドトラックからの10曲に加えて、ビル・エヴァンス在籍時のセクステットの演奏3曲（後にCBS/ソニーよりリリースされる編集盤『1958 Miles』に収録）を収録した作品です。

　40ページのブックレットが付属し、パーソネル、プロダクション・ディテールなどが記されたディスコグラフィ、ウォールストリート・ジャーナルの、マーク・マイヤーズによるエッセイ、マスタリング・エンジニアを担当したマーク・ワイルダーによる新リマスタリングのプロセスや各タイトルごとのコメントを掲載しています。
