-If you listen to any hip-hop at all than you have to have this record as well as Fear of a Black Planet.  Its amazing how sonically cool and great sounding these records are 20 plus years later.

ヒップホップに少しでも興味あれば、これと「Fear Of A Black Planet」は持ってなきゃダメだよ。発表から20年経ってもなお、音がここまでかっこよく聞こえるのは凄いよね。

-You want this record for the title track which is a beautiful funk/soul/ classic.   We had a sound man who used to play this every year when the sun came up on Mardi Gras day after we played our all night show at Tipitina's.

-The primer for Herbie's funk/electric stuff.  Once your digging this you can move on to Man Child and Sextant.

-I had to get a Hank Mobley record on the list.  If your knowledge of jazz greats isn't that deep then this is the next step.  One of the most beautiful tenor tones you'll ever hear.

ハンク・モーブリーのアルバムは入れておかなきゃね。ジャズをまだかじった程度だったら、このアルバムは次の一歩にちょうど良いよ。音楽史上最も美しいテノールの音だよ。

-My favorite War record.  WARNING: This record does not contain Low Rider!  For that you'll have to pick up Why Can't We Be Friends.

One of the best live records ever made.  If you don't have any Bill Withers records start with this.

-I had this record on vinyl and I always loved it.  I love the reckless abandon and rawness of it.  However the original record is only two long tracks - Right Off and Yesternow.  If you buy the complete sessions you get forty plus tracks, multiple takes, hours of music -- It might wear you down.

これはレコードで持っていて、昔から大好きだったんだよね。生々しさと、自由奔放な感じが良いんだよね。オリジナルは長い二曲だけだったけど、コンプリート・セッションを買えば40曲以上、違うテイクとかで、何時間もの音楽を味わえる。少し疲れちゃうかもしれないけどね（笑）

-I love the Monk solo piano records.  Start with this one and then look for the others.

モンクのソロ・ピアノのアルバムはどれも最高。ここから始めるのをオススメするよ。
