The Beach Boysが、Brian Wilsonがスタジオ作品に復帰した1976年『15 Big Ones』、1977年『Love You』期の音源を収録した作品『We Gotta Groove: The Brother Studio Years』を2月13日にリリースすることが決定した。

1970年代の作品の2つのボックス・セット――2021年の『Feel Flows: The Sunflower & Surf's Up Sessions 1969 - 1971』（『Sunflower』（1970）、『Surf’s Up』（1971）期の音源）、2022年の『Sail On Sailor - 1972』（『Carl And The Passions - “So Tough”』（1972）、『Holland』（1973）期の音源）――に続くこの『We Gotta Groove: The Brother Studio Years』は、1976～77年をThe Beach Boysの進化において最も創造的で飽くなき探求を続けたチャプターの1つとして再定義する。

活動拠点をカリフォルニアのサンタモニカに移し「ブラザー・スタジオ」と名付けられたスタジオで、Brian Wilsonが曲作りとプロデュースを行った73トラックを収録。アウトテイク、別ミックス、インストゥルメンタル、デモ音源等、未発表曲／音源35トラック、新ミックス22トラックが収録される。そして初めて、1977年の未発表セッション「Adult/Child」の音源が正式収録される。

アルバム・ジャケットには「ブラザー・スタジオ」のステンドグラスの窓の写真が使用されている。40ページCDブックレットにはThe Beach Boysのメンバーやスタジオ関係者の発言が盛り込まれた英文ライナーノーツ、貴重な写真、テープボックス等の画像、全トラックのセッション情報（場所、日程）が掲載されている。

そして、未発表音源の「We Gotta Groove (2025 Mix)」が先行公開された。

この音源は『Love You』セッションのアウトテイクで、1976年10～11月に録音され、プロデューサー／エンジニアのJames Sáezによって新たにミックスされた。Mike Loveのヴォーカル、Billy Hinscheのバッキング・ヴォーカルとエレクトリック・ギター、Brian Wilsonのヴォーカルと演奏（ボールドウィン・エレクトリック・ハープシコード、ドラム、タック・アップライト・ピアノ、ハモンドB-3オルガン、エレクトリック・ベース、タンバリン）がフィーチャーされている。
