アメリカの俳優 ウィリアム・ハートさんが亡くなったことが明らかになった。享年71歳。

ウィリアム・ハートさんは1950年、アメリカ ワシントンD.C.生まれ。ニューヨークのジュリアード音楽院で演技を学び、舞台で高い評価を得る。1980年に『アルタード・ステーツ／未知への挑戦』で主演として映画デビュー。1985年公開の映画『蜘蛛女のキス』ではアカデミー賞主演男優賞、カンヌ国際映画祭男優賞などを受賞した。『愛は静けさの中に』（1986年）と『ブロードキャスト・ニュース』（1987年）でもアカデミー賞主演男優賞にノミネートされ、デヴィッド・クローネンバーグ監督の『ヒストリー・オブ・バイオレンス』（2005年）ではアカデミー賞助演男優賞にノミネートされた。ほかにはヴィム・ヴェンダース監督の『夢の涯てまでも』（1991年）、アンソニー・ミンゲラ監督の『最高の恋人』（1993年）、『シリアナ』（2005年）、『グッド・シェパード』（2006年）などがある。『インクレディブル・ハルク』（2008年）にサディアス・ロス将軍役で初登場し、『シビル・ウォー／キャプテン・アメリカ』（2016年）や『アベンジャーズ／エンドゲーム』（2019年）などの作品にも同役で参加していた。

William Hurt has passed. On Robin Hood, I was aware of his reputation for asking character based questions, so I had compiled a file on the life of William Marshall. He sought me out when he arrived on set. I handed him the stack. Not sure if I’ve ever seen a bigger smile. RIP.
